NMSU nursing students visit LCGRM

DSCN0219 Pictured are NMSU nursing students from the Alamogordo campus. Pary Bennett, Jelena Kelly, Jennifer Miller. They visited the Mission on 17 September to interview members of the New Life Program so they can tailor subsequent instruction to specific needs. For a few years now doctoral candidate Randee Greenwald has brought nursing students to help administer instruction on practical health matters like personal hygiene and control of diabetes and blood pressure. It’s part of our New Life Program. The NLP is a nine-month resident recovery program that guides people from addiction and dependency to self-sufficiency. Randee’s nursing students help in Phase Two of the program we call Life Skills. It comprises instruction on GED preparation, resume writing, interview skills, personal finances, and health.
